Thank you, dog owners

I would like to offer a big thank you, again, to the man who helped me out this morning. Hunting a field at first light, in some type of turnips I think, I lost the first pheasant I shot. Mistakenly taking my eye off where the bird landed, the lack of distinct vegetation or markers made it tough to find the bird.

A young man and his dog were hunting the same field 80-100 yards away. Ashamed, I went with hat in hand to ask his dog for help finding the bird. When I was nearly to them, another...
